BACKGROUND
The International Institute of Alcohol Awareness
The mission of IIAA is to promote policies, practices, and public messaging that reduce
heavy consumption of alcohol by all groups in all circumstances; discourage any alcohol
consumption in high-risk situations; and promote outcome-based strategies that reduce

BIOGRAPHY
Biography of James E. Copple
Mr. Copple is the Executive Director of the International Institute for Alcohol Awareness. He also serves as Coordinator for America's Partners to Prevent Underage Drinking and Director of Policy, Planning, and Communications for the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation.
Mr. Copple is a highly regarded national speaker and writer in the substance abuse, mental health, and violence prevention field. He is the author of Safer Schools: Strategies for Educators and Law Enforcement Seeking to Prevent Violence within Schools; and most recently, Law Enforcement, Race, and Reconciliation: The Hope and Promise of One State's Effort to Address Cultural Diversity.
